Things Around The House

Things Around The House, 1954, by Herbert S. Zim, illustrated by Raymond Perlman
I won't lie- they really phoned it in on the cover.
 Love me a good cross-section.

The Successful Secretary

The Successful Secretary, 1970, by Litton Business Systems, Inc.
"When you think what an office would be without women today, it's hard to believe that until the typewriter was invented, women had no place in the business office."
"A secretary's personal qualities and abilities determine her degree of success on the job. She is:
Attractive-to-look-at - Her clothing is simple and becoming- well-fitted, smart, and freshly-pressed. Her hair style is manageable and neat. A soft make-up highlights her best features and remains fresh-looking all day on the job."
But seriously, how nice is that woodgrain? It's kinda great.

The Golden Book of Facts and Figures

The Golden Book of Facts and Figures, The Golden Press, 1962. Illustrated by the fabulous Mr. Lowell Hess. I LOVE this book, it's a fantastic showcase of splendid 60's infographics from a master of mid-century illustration.

Bar S Holiday Ham

Boneless, fully cooked. S-S-S-Wonderful.

Fun with Proverbs

Fun with Proverbs, The Learning Works, 1991. Illustrated by Beverly Armstrong, who I'm mildly obsessed with. Please don't let the cover distract you from its awesomeness-- the 90's were unfortunate.

Praise for the Cook Crisco Cookbook

Praise for the Cook, Procter & Gamble, 1959. I contacted the Procter & Gamble Company, but, sadly, they weren't able to tell me the name of the illustrator.
What can I say? They just don't make vegetable shortening cookbooks like they used to.
Where's the magic? The magic is in the can!
Who DOESN'T want to snuggle that cat?
